About the Artist

Crystel Samia was born in Douma, Lebanon, and studied Graphic Design and Visual Communication at the Lebanese University Institute of Fine Arts in Beirut from 2012 to 2017. During her Master’s project, she focused on illustration and classic frame-by-frame animation, where she discovered her passion for bringing drawings to life. Drawing since childhood, she works both digitally and traditionally, exploring painting, animation, and mixed media.

In 2020, she moved to Istanbul, where she participated in several art exhibitions, including one in Berlin, and began selling her original artworks and prints online and at art festivals. The strong connection people formed with her work became a major source of motivation. In 2024, she returned to Beirut with the intention of giving back to her community.

Since then, Crystel has been actively creating art and painting unique fashion items, selling her work online and in various shops across Lebanon. Alongside her personal practice, she works on animation and illustration projects, teaches animation at university level, and plans and executes art and design workshops around Beirut. Her work is driven by emotion, connection, and a deep love for nature, humanity, and the inner world, with visual art serving as her most honest form of expression.
